Biology department was founded at the body of the University of Kafkas in 1993-1994 academic year. Department was started to night education in 2002-2003 academic year. Duration of the education in the department is four years. Department focuses on the teaching of living organisms,    structure,   nutrition,   growing,   development and reproduction of living organisms,  cell and cell structure,   systematics and identification of living organisms,  interaction between living organisms and the environment etc. When the students graduate from the departmen they are awarded wiht the tittle of Biologist.

Graduate of the biology department may be employed in the following are as; Hospitals,   Environment,   Agriculture,   Forestry and work in medicine and food endustry as a represent.
